How do I measure my greyhound?

FLEECES, WINTER COATS, RAIN COATS: We suggest that you use the coat measurement information combined with your hound’s weight to determine which size is best for you.  We produce four standard sizes for our fleeces, winter coats, and rain coats.  Smalls generally fit most retired hounds that are less than 55 lbs with a length of 24-25” and girth of 28-29”.  Mediums fit greyhounds between 55-70 lbs with a length of 26-27” and a girth of 30-31”.  Larges are for hounds 70 lbs and up to 85 lbs with a length of 28-29” and a girth of 31-32”.  X-larges fit hounds larger than 85 lbs with a length of 30-31” and a girth of 32-34”.  Please note that the PJs & vests have different sizes.

Greyhounds vests come in just two standard sizes, smalls for less than 70 lbs and larges for 70 lbs and greater.

PJs & JAMMIES: We produce only three sizes for these items.  They are loose fitting and do not require specific measurements to determine what will fit.  Smalls generally fit most retired hounds that are less than 60 lbs, mediums fit greyhounds between 60-78 lbs , larges are for hounds 78 lbs and up.

COATS MEASUREMENTS: all hounds need to have two measurements taken.  Measurement 1 (Length in inches) is from between the shoulder blades to the start of your hound’s tail.  Measurement 2 (Girth in inches) is the girth around the widest part of your hound’s chest.  Both measurements are shown in the picture below.  This along with your hound’s weight will help you determine what size is best to purchase or if you need a custom size.
